Before I begin, can we just take a moment and think about how it’s almost March!? These past two months have seemed to have went by so quickly… It may be down to how many books I’ve managed to read so far this year.
This month, I have read the most I have ever read in a month. Totalling 16 books; 14 e-books and 2 physical.

Medusa
Author: Jessie Burton
Thoughts:
Who doesn’t love a retelling on Greek mythology? This wonderful story of the misunderstood and misrepresented Medusa. Was she born a monster or made into one?
I really enjoyed this fresh take on the myth, showing a different side to Medusa by adding a feminist approach to her story.
I binged this in one sitting, very easy to read.
If I told you that I’d killed a man with a glance, would you wait to hear the rest? The why, the how, what happened next?
Monster. Man-hater. Murderess. Forget everything you’ve been told about Medusa.
Internationally bestselling author Jessie Burton flips the script in this astonishing retelling of Greek myth, illuminating the woman behind the legend at last.
Exiled to a far-flung island after being abused by powerful Gods, Medusa has little company other than the snakes that adorn her head instead of hair. Haunted by the memories of a life before everything was stolen from her, she has no choice but to make peace with her present: Medusa the Monster. But when the charmed and beautiful Perseus arrives on the island, her lonely existence is blown apart, unleashing desire, love… and betrayal.
The Mindf*ck series
Author: S.T Abby
Thoughts:
I have to admit, I devoured this series within a couple of days. It is beyond addictive and leaves you wanting more. Each instalment ends on a cliff-hanger which grips you to keep reading.
With five books in the series, it may seem a lot but they are quite short averaging around 150 pages per book.
It’s dark, nail-biting, spicy and well… fun!
Please read Content Warnings before reading this series as it does cover some dark issues that may be triggering for some. Please do not ignore this warning.
They took too much.
Left too little.
I had nothing to lose…until him.

~Lana~
I didn’t expect him.
I didn’t want to fall in love.
But I can’t let him go.
Logan Bennett makes the world a safer place.
He’s brilliant.
He’s a hero.
He locks away the sick and depraved.
But while he’s saving lives, I’m taking them. Collecting the debts that are owed to me.
Ten years ago, they took from me. They left me for dead.
They should have made sure I stayed dead.
Now I’m taking from them.
One name at a time.
I’ve trained for too long.
I’ve been patient.
I can’t stop now.
Revenge is best served cold…
They never see me coming, until I paint their walls red.
Logan doesn’t know how they hurt me. He doesn’t know about the screams they ignored. He doesn’t know how twisted that town really is.
He just knows people are dying.
He doesn’t know he’s in love with their killer.
No one suspects a dead girl.
And Logan doesn’t suspect the girl in his bed.
They’re looking for a monster.
Not a girl who loves red.
Not a girl in love.
I’m a faceless nightmare.
At least until I tell them the story they’ve pretended never happened.
But in the end, will Logan choose them? Or will we watch them burn together?
vicious lost boys series
Author: Nikki St. Crowe
Thoughts:
This trilogy was devoured over three days. It’s one of those series that you never knew you needed in your life until you start it. I cannot express how dark and wonderful this one is.
This is a dark romance retelling of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys.
As always with dark romance, please read the content warnings.
The stories were all wrong — Hook was never the villain.
For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken.
Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked.
But it’s pointless.
Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.
NOTE: The Never King is a reimagining of Peter and Wendy. Characters have been aged up for this darker, grittier version. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Never King and the Lost Boys. You can expect hate kissing, fighting, bickering, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes. Book one ends on a cliff.
The Hunter
Author: Chris Carter
Thoughts:
This short story pre-quel to my favourite thriller series is the perfect place to begin you Robert Hunter journey.
Day one on the job and he has his hands full.
Nice little addition to the series. Short and sweet
A thrilling ebook exclusive short story from Sunday Timesbestselling author Chris Carter.
Meet Robert Hunter, the youngest Homicide Detective the Los Angeles Police has ever recruited, on his first day. As a rookie, he is given a simple suicide investigation to cut his teeth on. But when he arrives at the scene, he swiftly begins to suspect that something is not quite right.
Despite the fact that the door was locked from the inside, and there is no other way out of the apartment, Hunter has a hunch that the victim did not commit suicide. But with a new Captain to impress and the evidence stacked against him, Hunter has a lot to prove if he is to solve the case and keep his place on the team.
Keep It In The Family
Author: John Marrs
Thoughts:
This was my first John Marrs book and I have to admit, I was unsure if this was for me at the beginning. This was due to the multiple point of view and the some-what slower build up … BUT!! Boy, did it pay off. The last half of the book was so intriguing and I just had to know where it was going.
Highly recommend this suspense filled mystery thriller.
Mia and Finn are busy turning a derelict house into their dream home when Mia unexpectedly falls pregnant. Following the clue up into the eaves, the couple make a gruesome discovery: their dream home was once a house of horrors.
In the wake of their traumatic discovery, the baby arrives and Mia can’t shake her fixation with the monstrous crimes that happened right above them. Haunted by the terrible things she saw and desperate to find answers, her obsession pulls her ever further from her husband.
Secrecy shrouds the mystery of the attic, but when shards of a dark truth start to emerge, Mia realises the danger is terrifyingly present. She is prepared to do anything to protect her family―but is it already too late?
Run On Red
Author: Noelle W. Ihli
Thoughts:
“Run On Red” gripped me straight away. Starting off strong it really kept my attention but I will admit it wasn’t my favourite thriller.
It was quite interesting with some great plot twists but something was lacking. I felt as though it could have been more.
It’s a fast little thriller that has some good elements but I won’t be re-reading.
A rural country road. No cell signal for miles. A terrifying game of cat-and-mouse.
By the time Laura and Olivia notice the headlights tailing them through the hills, it’s too late. What seems, at first, like a case of road rage quickly unfolds into a heart-pounding chase—and a battle for survival.
Who are the men in the truck? What do they want? And can Laura and Olivia outrun—and outsmart—them long enough to call for help, even if it means taking their chances in the hills on foot?
As their situation grows more perilous, the girls realize that the real terror has only just begun. But flight won’t save them from their pursuers. If they’re going to make it home alive, they’ll have to fight.
Kingdom Of The Wicked
Author: Kerri Maniscalco
Thoughts:
I’ll admit, I overhyped this book in my head so much so that when I finished it I was definitely hoping for something more from it.
I loved the witchy element to the book and the demons, the mystery was great but I was expecting so much more. I definitely think Booktok and Bookstagram really hyped this up. I will be continuing the series as it was enjoyable but not my favourite fantasy i’ve read.
I have to thank the audio book for getting me through this one as the performance really kept me going.
Two sisters. One brutal murder. A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself . . .
A new series from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Stalking Jack the Ripper.

One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family’s renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin . . . desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister’s killer and to seek vengeance at any cost-even if it means using dark magic that’s been long forbidden.
Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia’s side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women’s murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems . . .
Lost To Witchcraft
Author: Molly Tullis
Thoughts:
This is book two of the Asphodel series and while it’s recommended to read them in order they can be read in any order.
This book follows Hecate, the goddess of Witchcraft. Who doesn’t love Hecate! I adored this book so much, I absolutely loved the story and the humour throughout.
Molly has a wonderful way of spinning spice, adventure into her work with strong characters.
Deep beneath Greece, Hecate serves the devoted from her home in the Underworld, keeping far away from the dalliances of men, gods, and the world that broke her heart.
When Hera curses one man in particular, Hecate finds herself swept up in the affairs of the pantheon, and begins to wonder if she’s intervening for the right reasons — or the right man.
Aeëtes is both a prince and a demigod, who has never entirely fit into the realm of gods or men. He has always done what princes do best — run away — until a meeting with the Queen of the Gods results in Aeëtes being drawn into the politics of Olympus.
Few mortals and immortals alike know the expanse of Hecate’s true power, and when she vows to protect Aeëtes from Hera’s wrath, no one can be ready for what’s unleashed.
Hecate and Aeëtes are going to have to work together to avoid Hera’s clutches, but both will have to lower the walls around their hearts and learn to trust each other if they are going to survive.
Zodiac Academy: The Awakening
Authors: Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti
Thoughts:
I love all things to do with elemental magic. This is no exception. I did however, struggle with the pacing of the book. With two writers and dual point of view it felt as though it was rushed but due to the plot I feel like it was meant to be that way.
While book one isn’t my favourite I will definitely continue with this series as it has grabbed my attention.
Please read content warnings as this series covers some potentially triggering scenes
I’m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I’m Fae.
But of course there’s a catch – all I have to do to claim my birth right is prove that I’m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that’s true as I’m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn’t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.
The school they’ve sent me to is both dangerous as sh*t and one helluva party. Vampires bite weaker students in the corridors, the Werewolf pack has orgies in the Wailing Wood at every full moon and don’t even get me started on the dark and twisted ways the Sirens use their powers on people’s emotions, or how my sinfully tempting Cardinal Magic teacher hosts detentions that leave people needing therapy.
Classes are totally interesting if you manage to live through them. And that Gemini star sign I mentioned? It now determines my elemental magic and affects my destiny, so learning astrology is essential if I’m going to beat down my classmates – which is actively encouraged by the way.
My biggest problem is the drool worthy Dragon shifter who has his eyes on my throne. He and his three psycho friends are determined to make my time here hell.
All I’ve got to do is survive. But fate might have other ideas.
Dammit, why couldn’t I have gotten a letter to Hogwarts?
The Liar's Girl
Authors: Cathering Ryan Howard
Thoughts:
After reading “The Nothing Man” I immediately jumped into this book. Whilst it was amazing, it was not as good as “The Nothing Man”
I found the story really interesting and I found it difficult to put down.
I will most definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
Read my spoiler free review of “The Nothing Man” here
